The world famous Mains of Fintry Pipe Band was founded in 1972 and has played at large events
all over the world, including the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008,
performed for Pope Benedict XVI in Princes Street, Edinburgh in 2010, the RICOH Women's
British Open at Carnoustie in July, 2011 and was invited to take part in the Independence Day
Parade in Gdynia, Poland on 11th November, 2011. In June, 2012 the band was asked to perform
for the Olympic Torch Relay's arrival at the City Square, Dundee and in June, 2013 the band
played at the Whitehall Theatre, Dundee for the SSAFA Concert. In November, 2013 the band was
included in the Dundee City of Culture, 2017 Final Bid Video in Derry. Amongst the most recent
performances, the Band led the World War One Parade in Dundee.

Band Honours Two Retiring Stalwart Pipers
Two longserving Pipers have been honoured by the Band in recognition of
their Band Commitment spanning a period of 66yrs. Piper Tony Heron
served 36yrs and Piper Duncan Alexander served 30yrs. They were
presented with suitably engraved Quaich's and a bottle of Malt Whisky each
from Band Secretary and Piper Craig Fyall and his Daughter Drummer Libby
Fyall at a recent Band Xmas Social Function. Their wifes Anne & Evelyn were
presented with Bouquets of Flowers.

Annual General Meeting
